- Have you always wanted to crochet, but you have found crochet patterns to be overly complicated for no apparent reason?
- Do you prefer to do things your own way, and not follow patterns, recipes, or maybe even unnecessary rules in general?
- Would you appreciate an honest dialogue from one right-brained person to another who has bypassed traditional crochet to think outside of the box and create wearable art?
In these crochet classes I will teach you the techniques I've learned in over 25 years of crocheting intuitively without the use of patterns. The classes will be taught in my studio, where I can accommodate up to three students. There is no curriculum for these classes, because I will cater it to your needs and meet you where you are. Whether you're a beginner who's just starting out, or you would just like to hone your skills. All skill levels are welcome. Bring an idea for a project or perhaps we can discuss something that you would specifically like to make. Children under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided, but please feel free to bring your own yarn and/or hooks if you would like.
Some of the things we will work on could include the following
- Basic stitches that will familiarize you with crochet and guide you on your journey.
- Increasing
- Decreasing
- Techniques to join new yarn
- Weaving in ends
- Seaming
- Color and texture combinations
- How to create apparel and accessories that will fit you just right.
- How to have fun and not take yourself too seriously.
- How to allow yourself to make mistakes as you go along because that’s how you learn.
- How to always trust your intuition and the process along the way.
Cost: $50/hour for one student.
$35/hour per student for up 2-3 students.
