1/1/2024 0 Comments New beginnings . . .Hi, and welcome to my blog. I'm Christa, the sole maker behind Wild Child Fibers. Not sure what my expectations are for this space, but I hope for it to be a place where I share what I'm creating and take a break from social media. Like most things in my life, I'm going to see where it goes and allow it to evolve organically.
On this first day of 2024, I cleaned out my studio which felt great, since I filled up a huge bag to donate. As I looked through ALL (yes, I went through everything ) of my fabric and materials, I decided it was a good time to start using all of the vintage scraps I received in donations that I have been saving for just the right projects. To be honest, as much as I love the vintage fabrics, I was really at a loss for how to use them in wearables, due to the age and wear and tear. Well, it finally came to me! I purchased a dress form from My Aunt Debbie last summer, something I've never had before aside from a wicker one for display purposes. Earlier today I started layering fabrics and bits on the form to see what I could come up with. Unfortunately, I have to get on with my day, so I need to put the project aside until tomorrow, but I'm really excited to work on it again tomorrow. xo, C
