Do you really make everything yourself?
Yes, I do. All pieces are made by me from start to finish. I handle every aspect of my business except donation pick-ups and deliveries. My husband does that for me.
Do you wash your pieces?
Yes, of course I do. I wash all donations when I receive them for starters. Then, every finished piece is washed and steamed before it leaves my studio.
What are the care instructions for crocheted and patchworked items? For best results please hand wash and air dry. There are A LOT of ends woven in on each crochet piece. If an end happens to come out due to wear and tear and/or laundering, fear not. Your garment/accessory is not coming unraveled; an end just sneaked out, and all you need to do is tuck it back in.
How did you learn to do what you do?
I am 100% self-taught. Meaning, that I made a lot of mistakes along the way(and I still do), but I truly believe that has made me who I am. I learn something new every day.
Are your garments "traditionally" sized?
No, they are not, and honestly, what does that mean anyway? I provide flat measurements for all of my pieces, so please check out the sizing information section, which will show you how to properly measure to ensure a perfect fit.
How do you come up with your designs and what inspires you?
All of my pieces are one-of-a-kind. I think I am mostly inspired by what came before; the shapes, designs, and styles of the past. I work intuitively, so everything starts with an idea or a feeling, and then I just go for it until it feels complete. Sometimes this means that the idea is exactly what I had in mind at the end, other times it takes some twists and turns along the way, or it might even end up as something completely different than what I originally thought it might be. It's all about the journey; even if the road is long and
Are your clothes upcycled?
No, they are not. I get asked this question a lot, and people often refer to me as an upcycler probably because I work exclusively with a lot of clothing donations. When I receive donations, I completely deconstruct the garments and start from scratch. I’ve never upcycled a single piece of clothing I’ve made. What I do is called recycling.
